We’re Back Sponsoring the 2025 Buckland Bounder Fell Race!

Hi everyone, Louis Lopez here, Director of Hindhead Property, and I’m super excited to announce that we’re returning as the official sponsor of the 2025 Buckland Bounder Fell Race. That’s right – after an epic experience last year, we couldn’t resist jumping back in and supporting this amazing event (and all of you brave runners out there).If you’ve ever run the Plymouth 5K or 10K and thought, "Hmm, that was fun, but what’s next?" — then the Buckland Bounder is for you! Trust me, this race is not for the faint-hearted, but the rewards are huge. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just fancy a challenge, keep reading to find out why you should join us on June 14, 2025.

The Race – What’s It All About?

First off, the Buckland Bounder is a 9.8 km (just over 6 miles), multi-terrain race that will test your legs, lungs, and endurance. The route is designed to challenge even the fittest runners, with an elevation gain of 290 meters (that’s 290 meters of steep hills to climb — good luck). The race starts and finishes in Buckland Monachorum, a gorgeous village nestled right on the edge of Dartmoor.

So, what’s the route like?

Picture this: You’re starting in the village, and the first thing you do is head straight up onto Roborough Common, where you get your first taste of what’s to come. Then, you’ll cross the Maristow Estate — prepare for jaw-dropping views of Dartmoor. From there, the course drops down into the open moor, winds through the woods, and crosses the River Walkham (via a little bridge). At Double Waters, you’ll take another steep climb, but don’t worry, it’s worth it for the views when you hit the top!After that, the route takes you across the open moorland towards Berrator (more stunning scenery, of course), then behind the Buckland Monachorum Community Orchard, and down a track toward the road. Then it’s up Tor Hill, followed by a fast downhill dash to the finish line in the village. Simple, right? (Okay, maybe not that simple, but it’s totally doable if you’ve got the right mindset and a little grit!)

Why Should You Sign Up?

Not only will you be pushing your body to new limits, but you’ll also be part of a great cause. The profits from the Buckland Bounder go directly to local causes and initiatives — so every step you take helps support the village.Plus, there are prizes for top finishers, including the prestigious Drake Manor Shield, which goes to the fastest local male and female runner in the parish of Buckland Monachorum (Clearbrook, Milton Combe, and Crapstone). We’re a proud sponsor, and I’ll be rooting for all you locals to grab that shield!

The race isn’t just about the physical challenge (though there’s plenty of that). It’s also about the amazing sense of community. Last year, Hindhead Property had the pleasure of supporting this event, and let me tell you, it was a blast. We’ve got the muscle aches to prove it, but we’re already looking forward to doing it again. There’s something truly special about running with locals and visitors alike, all raising money for a good cause while experiencing some of the most breathtaking scenery Dartmoor has to offer.

Race Day Logistics

Parking is available at the top of the village, and there will be clear signs guiding you to the spots. If you’re nervous about race-day stress, pre-entering is the way to go. It’ll save you time and hassle when you arrive.Also, there will be water stations along the route (because, let’s face it, you’ll need it), but we encourage everyone to bring their own refillable containers to keep things eco-friendly. Let’s all do our part to keep this stunning area looking beautiful!
